Debuting with a hypothetical exercise: dub casting
Let us suppose that Media Blasters relent and decide to re-release the Endless Melody Collection with a dub track. If you were involved in making that track, whom would you cast in which part? Would you maintain an all-female voice cast, or would you have some male characters (like the Argentian soldiers from the early episodes) voiced by actors instead of actresses? Would you stick to established anime dub workers, or would you seek to bring in celebrities from live-action (Natalie Portman) and/or Western animation (Grey DeLisle)? For the record, my answers to those questions are, in reverse order: I might bring in some Western animation people just to cut down on the Talking to Herself problem, especially if working with the New York voice group that Media Blasters traditionally employ, but film and TV stars would be likely to break our budget. I might have characters who've already changed over to male voiced by male performers, but those whose transition happens in-story [in which category I include Waporif] will be voiced by female performers throughout. This question is sufficiently complicated that I'm still working on the answers, but as a BLEACH fan, I want to have Stephanie Sheh and Michelle Ruff in there somewhere (ideally as Aer and Neviril, of course, but I'd take what I could get). J-List www.jlist.com/MANGA/MNYR_1.htmlThe link above (if it works right) will bring you to a page showing several Yuri manga from a company called J-list. Sadly it's in Japanese, or I'd order some, but I figured some of you might like to at least take a look see at it. And I think if you put Yuri in the search box you'll get a couple of video games as well.

Notification System
**FINAL EDIT Thu Dec 10 02:15:47 UTC 2009** So there is the final update... Over the past day we have processed around 11 million jobs out of the 12 million that were in queue at that time. Please bear in mind that over this past day, more jobs for notifications are also created. So while the queue has been dropping, we are still not fully caught up at this point, due to backlog and new jobs. We have roughly 3 million jobs still pending that involve the notification system in some manner. We had hoped we could have fully cleared the queue in a day, but unfortunately we can't clear it too quickly, since we need the rest of the site to operate normally. From our current perspective on the amount of jobs that are left in queue, and how many it has processed thus far, we believe it will take around another 8 - 12 hours to process everything. And finally some answers to some questions: ( Read More and Get Some Answers... ) Current Mood: grumpy |
